Massive Weekend For Monte Motorsport.
BCM Motorsports Marketing posted Wednesday May 26, 2010.
For the Monte Motorsport team this weekend will be a massive one and that is just the effort it has taken to get there.
For Kim Buswell and the team it will be a huge effort just to arrive in Darwin for this weekends Australian Sprintcar Championship as countless hours have been spent at the Monte Motorsport home base preparing the cars for this assault. Although you could say that it really all started twelve months ago.
It was this about this time in 2009 that Buswell loaded up both the #95 and #17 J&J’s of drivers Ryan Farrell and Luch Monte for the winter season in Darwin in what would be the start of a rigorous campaign, especially for Buswell and Farrell as they prepared for a summer devoted to World Series Sprintcars.
The team gelled well and proved to be the surprise packet during the 2009/10 season finishing with plenty of podium finishes but missed out on that elusive win on the WSS trail.
In the past Farrell has shown what it takes to be on an Australian Championship podium (2nd – 2005, 3rd -2009) and is now ready to take the next step. His late season form on returning to Western Australia and the fact that he has done plenty of laps around the Northline facility would have to see Farrell start out as one of the favorites at this year’s event. For team owner Luch Monte this will be a case of finishing off a roller coaster season with a good result. It has been well documented the highs and lows that he has had to endure during his 2009/10 campaign but as the season wound down for the AHG Series, Monte found something he had been searching for all year – consistency during the entire evening from hot laps to the feature race. After trying a number of set up combinations during the year a late season find as to what suited Monte when behind the wheel of the Miracle Recreation Equipment #17 has left the jovial West Aussie with plenty of confidence heading to a place he too has completed plenty of laps in anger. This title will be one of the toughest as many see it as ‘neutral’ ground, but for Farrell and Monte the advantage of competing here over the past couple of seasons will give them an advantage over the other contenders for the crown. Nothing would please them more than to finish with a one-two on top of the podium come Saturday night.
