Its Still Busy Times For Farrell And Monte Motorsport.
Farrell PR - BCM posted Tuesday January 19, 2010.

Last weekend proved to be another tough one for the Monte Motorsport #95 as driver Ryan Farrell and his team experience just what its like to be competing week in/week out with the best Australia has to offer on the World Series trail.

It’s been three long months since the team left the shores of their home state of Western Australia and although the results have been good, the hope of winning a round or two of this competitive series has unfortunately eluded them so far. Last weekend was another test of character for the team at the double header at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway.

An average time trial (24th) meant the team had to really work their craft on the Miracle Recreation Equipment #95 J&J and unlike others in the field they delivered a car to Farrell that improved its position in the heats to only just miss the cut for the opening night preliminary A-Main, qualifying twentieth and two spots from a start in the final.

As Ryan explained “That’s twice we have had to go through that now. At both of the two night deals so far this year we have just been that one or two positions outside of qualifying for the A, but the car improved as the night went on, I’m extremely happy about that as it set me up for a good night on night two.”

Come the next night and the car continued to improve as he blistered through the field in his final qualifying heat, moving from sixth to the front and taking a well deserved win for the team. This would see Farrell move from outside the top eighteen in to a decent eleventh starting position for the all important finale. Come the final and the team had its work cut out for them on a track that was vastly different from the night before.

By the time the A-Main was ready to start, the track as Farrell described it was “….gut slick with big cushion on it.” It was one of those tracks that you couldn’t afford to ‘throw caution to the wind’ to and proved to be one where few passing opportunities arose for all who competed. Farrell was naturally unhappy with his thirteenth finishing position, but glad to bring the car back in one piece after a tough weekend.

“The conditions were tough out there tonight, I think that a lot of people were scratching their heads about what to do prior to the A, but Buzzy ad Dill gave me a good car tonight it’s just that I didn’t get the opportunity to really move up through the field. We came away with some points and I’m looking to improve that when we race the next round of the series, and the big shows like the Classic and the Kings Challenge.” He said after the meeting.

Farrell and the Monte team are guaranteed to come back fighting as they head down south for the next big shows at Mount Gambier and Warnambool, where they will be taking on some of the best the world has to offer in Sprintcar racing. They won’t back down and once again will head in to these meetings ready for anything that gets thrown their way.
