Steven Lines and the Monster Energy Monte Motorsport Sprintcar team are going their separate ways. Lines, who won the 2011 Warrnambool Classic with the Monte Motorsport Team and finished sixth in this year’s World Series Sprintcars Championship sat down with Monte Motorsport Principals very recently to discuss the final races of the season and from these discussion the team and Lines have made an amicable decision not to have Steven see out the rest of the season in the # 7 J&J. |

Steven Lines was clearly the fastest man at the 2012 Australian Sprintcar Championship held at Speedway City Adelaide last weekend. But clearly being fastest and winding up winning the event are two entirely different things, as the Monster Energy Monte Motorsport driver soon found out. |

By his own admission, the last three nights of competition at some of the biggest races of the season have been disappointing for Monte Motorsport Sprintcar star Steven Lines and this weekend presents both a perfect chance to turn things around AND win an Australian Championship. “We dug ourselves a very big hole at Warrnambool,” recalls Lines, “and we never got out. There’s so many good cars there for The Classic that unless you get off to a good start and keep up the intensity you’re never going to have a realistic shot at winning.” |

Donny Schatz rolled the dice on Sunday night January 1 at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway, electing to invert the top fourteen drivers after winning the Dash and take a chance to add a couple of grand to the winner's cheque if he could come from row seven and win. Schatz may have rolled the dice - and good on him for doing so - but it was Shane Stewart who pocketed the extra coin with an impressive victory in Round 8 of the KRE Race Engines Sprintcar Track Championship. |
